Spinal Decompression Therapy For Herniated Discs

Spinal Decompression Therapy SF

We have been providing treatment for herniated discs in San Francisco for over 23 years.

Herniated discs in the neck and low back are fairly common. Sometimes a herniated disc will heal on it’s own. Sometimes conventional therapies such as chiropractic or physical therapy will help resolve a herniated disc. Other times nothing seems to help.

The symptoms can vary case to case. The most common symptoms are neck or low back pain, arm or leg pain, numbness, tingling in the extremities, weakness, night pain, carpal tunnel symptoms and even headaches. Everyone presents differently.

Spinal decompression therapy is performed on a machine that is designed and built to treat herniated and bulging discs naturally. The machine we use is the DRX9000.

The DRX9000 works by elongating the spine, enlarging the disc space, re-hydrating the disc, re-positioning the disc into a more normal alignment, strengthening the spinal ligaments, and restoring range of motion to the spine.

The treatment consists of twenty one hour sessions done over the course of 6-12 weeks depending on the case presentation and the patients schedule.

Results are outstanding.

If you have been diagnoses with a cervical or bulging disc herniation or suspect you might have one, we would like to meet with you to discuss your treatment options.

We are the spinal decompression experts in San Francisco and have the most experience…and experience matters.

To find out if you are a candidate for spinal decompression in San Francisco please call 415-392-2224. Ask for a complimentary consultation.

Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression: Will it work for me?

San Francisco Chiropractor and Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

MD News Photos 011 I have been practicing chiropractic in the SF Financial District for over 17 years now. About 4 years ago…after quite a bit of research, I decided to add nonsurgical spinal decompression to my treatment protocols for herniated lumbar discs. The machine I purchased is the DRX9000.

A while later I purchased a DRX9000c so I could help patients with cervical disc herniations.

We were already quite successful dealing with most of the cervical and lumbar neurovascular compression syndromes we dealt with…but there was definitely a subset of chronic neck and back pain patients that we could not help.

In fact…these are the patients we first contacted when we acquired our DRX9000. Patients that had tried chiropractic with limited success. Patients that did not want low back surgery. And patients that for the most part had tried everything under the sun…pain meds, cortisone, acupuncture, physical therapy…you name it.

Right away we knew we were on to something special. Yes, it was a lot of hard work…and patients had to pay out of pocket because insurance does not cover nonsurgical spinal decompression (it's still considered experimental)…but it was working…when nothing else would.

NO…it was not working on every single herniated disc patient that did it…and that was a bummer…just most of them.

And here we are 4 years later. We have a new clinic at the San Francisco Embarcadero Center called Executive Express Chiropractic. We have a DRX9000 and a DRX9000c…and we have successfully helped hundreds of chronic back and neck pain patients…patients that felt they had no where else to turn.

So…will nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000 or the DRX9000c work for you?

There's only one way to find out…saddle-up. Sure, there is a very convincing Spinal Decompression Special Report out there based on preliminary research studies done at the Mayo Clinic, Duke University, and John Hopkins…but you still wont know until you try.

Anyway…you can go to www.axiomworldwide.comto find a DRX9000 near you. Or…you can visit our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center in downtown SF. WE offer a complimentary DRX consultation. Simply call 415-392-2225.

Chronic Low Back Pain?

San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:

Bxp57016[1] Do you suffer with Chronic Low Back Pain (LBP)? If so, you are not alone. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes, just about everyone has had (at some point) back pain that interferes with their life somehow. Back Pain is the second most common neurological ailment in the United States…headaches are #1.

Men and women are equally affected, and low back pain occurs most often between age 30-50. The risk of low back pain from degenerated discs, herniated discs, or spinal arthritis, increases with age.

Chronic low back pain is defined as back pain that persists for 3 months or more. It is often progressive and the cause can be hard to determine.

Check out the link above for some very good information and insight on LBP.

My opinion is that nothing beats traditional chiropractic care for acute or chronic LBP. When chiropractic fails to deliver there is nonsurgical spinal decompression.

Your lifestyle choices also matter…especially your food choices and exercise habits…even the amount of mental stress you have in your life.

So yes…chronic low back pain can be hard to diagnose and treat…but at the same time, it just depends on your treatment choices and willingness to make lifestyle changes…you have more control than you think.

Dr. Eben Davis is clinic director of Executive Express Chiropracticin downtown San Francisco. He can be reached at 415-392-2225.

Will A Herniated Lumbar Disc Heal On It’s Own?

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Images1 I have been treating herniated discs in the SF Financial District for over 16 years now.

I have helped hundreds, if not thousands of herniated disc patients return to more normal lifestyles…some have had complete recoveries.

During this time…one of the most common questions I have been asked is…

Will my herniated lumbar disc heal by itself?

And, this is a great question…and the answer is…maybe. Some do-some don’t.

Heck…there are people every day that suffer herniated discs in the low back and never even know it.

It’s the patients that know they have herniated discs that are not responsive to conventional treatment methods that are the problem. They are a small subset of the overall pool of people who have a herniated disc.

Why is this? Well…I guess it’s just the way the disc is positioned in the spinal canal or nerve channels. The disc fragments can get lodged in there in such a way that the body is unable to heal itself. This traps the nerve roots or puts pressure on the spinal cord, which can cause severe low back pain, sciatica, and all kinds of other problems.

Sometimes, traditional chiropractic can be very effective treatment for lumbar disc herniations. But sometimes it does nothing.

At my San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center, we incorporate Chiropractic, Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression, and Active Release Techniques (ART) to successfully manage most lumbar disc syndromes.

So yes, herniated discs do repair themselves when they can…but when they can’t they need some help…and it doesn’t have to be back surgery either. In fact…some say back surgery is a thing of the past. I don’t know about that…I think we need both surgical and nonsurgical treatments for everything.

Anyway…if you live or work near the SF Financial District, and would like to find out if you qualify for treatment at Executive Express Chiropractic at the Embarcadero Center…simply call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Eben Davis.

DRX9000 Spinal Decompression: Should You Do it?

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 In order for nonsurgical spinal decompression to have a chance of fixing your chronic back pain…you have to make the decision to try it.

Nothing will happen until you take action. You can do all the research in the world, but until you saddle up on the DRX9000 you will never know if it will work for you.

Sure it’s a lot of time…6 weeks. And it’s a lot of money…$5000 or so. But you know what? There is nothing more important than your health…because without it, you are unable to express your life to it’s fullest potential. And that’s what it’s all about.

Here is a famous quote that says it all:

"When health is absent, Wisdom cannot reveal itself, Art cannot become manifest, Strength cannot be exerted, Wealth is useless, and Reason is powerless."

Herophiles, 300 B.C.

So, if you have herniated discs and are considering the DRX9000, but you just can’t seem to take that first step, just realize…"Nothing Happens Until Something Moves"-Albert Einstein

For a complimentary DRX9000 Consultation with Dr. Eben Davis at Executive Express Chiropractic in downtown San Francisco…call 415-392-2225.

DRX9000 Non-surgical Spinal Decompression. Who is a Candidate? Part II

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center continues the discussion on the DRX9000 and DRX9000c. Who are the best candidates, who gets the best results, and why ?

Axiom_marketing_dvd_121 Yesterday I wrote about a patient who I thought was a pretty good candidate for the DRX9000. Today I want to continue the discussion and also talk about why some people should not consider decompression therapy. Sure, the DRX9000 is very safe an gentle, but it’s still not for everyone. For instance, if you have just recently started to experience neck or low back pain, you probably would want to try some other therapies first, such as chiropractic or physical therapy, or conservative medical treatment. Heck, some ice packs may be all you need. Even if you have been diagnosed with a herniated disc, you still may not need nonsurgical spinal decompression. I know first hand from my 15 years as a chiropractor, that disc herniations most of the time will respond favorably to chiropractic adjustments. In fact, something like 85% of the time, low back or neck problems will resolve with conservative care, especially chiropractic.

But, it’s the other 15% that we are concerned about. The patients that do not respond to anything. Or, maybe they get partial relief. Sometimes the pain is such that you can live with it, sometimes it’s just unbearable, and everything in between. Chronic back pain, is back pain that persists for over 90 days. Chronic low back or neck pain can be a mystery at times, confusing even the best of doctors. This is why it is so important not to rush into surgery. Take your time, you can always have surgery.

So, lets get back to who gets the best results with the DRX9000 (lumbar spinal decompression) or the DRX9000c (cervical spinal decompression). Single level disc herniations with no other complicating factors will respond the best. Multi-level disc herniations are a little more work. Throw in some advanced spinal degeneration (which is common), and it makes it a little more challenging. But here’s the thing…Even if your spine is a total wreck, you would probably be very happy if it could be better than it is, and this is totally realistic, even with the worst of cases. But remember, there are limitations of matter. The DRX9000 is a great machine, but it is not magic.

Then, once we start spinal decompression therapy there are some things YOU need to do, like keep your apts., wear your back support, do your exercises, eat the right foods, and communicate with your doctor. The patients that adhere to the treatment protocol and the home care instructions seem to do really well. Just like anything else worthwhile, the more you do, the more you gain. Tomorrow we will talk about elderly patients and spinal decompression treatments with the DRX9000.

If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our San Francisco DRX9000 Decompression Center, please fill out our Free Online Consultation Form or call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation.

DRX 9000 Spinal Decompression. Who is a candidate? Part 1

San Francisco Chiropractor and Herniated Disc Specialists comments with a three part series of posts:

Md_news_photos_011 I recently spent time with a gentleman who has had low back pain since he was a teenager. The purpose of the appointment was to find out more about spinal decompression therapy with the DRX9000, and to see if he is a candidate, because not everyone is. So, who is a candidate for nonsurgical decompression, and why ? Well, the technology was created to treat herniated and bulging spinal discs. But, not everyone that has a herniated disc or bulging disc needs the DRX9000. It’s kind of confusing. Most patients with disc herniations will respond favorably to conventional treatments such as chiropractic care, physical therapy, even medical care. Heck, most low back problems go away on their own. But, there is a subset of these low back and neck pain patients that do not respond to conventional therapies. They develop what we call chronic back pain (over 90 days or so duration).

Most of the patients we meet with at our San Francisco DRX9000 center, come to discuss spinal decompression for the low back or neck. The majority have already tried everything, with not much success. As long as you have not had surgical fusion and do not have any tumors, fractures, or dislocations, you are probably a candidate for the DRX9000. In addition, some patients with advanced osteoporosis, aortic aneurysms, and some other medical conditions would most likely be disqualified also.

Now, even if you are medically qualified, the results depend on the level of severity of your condition as well as how many disc herniations you have. It becomes more challenging with multi-level disc bulges and herniations, but still, positive results are obtained more often than not. Geez, if you have had chronic back back for 20 years and your activities are limited because of it, why not try nonsurgical spinal decompression? It’s very safe. To my knowledge there has never been a case of permanent bodily harm from DRX9000 decompression therapy. It’s worth a shot, it really is.

If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for the DRX9000 at our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center, pleas fill out our Free Online Consultation Form, or call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Eben Davis.
