Sciatica Treatment with Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression in san franciscoWe have been providing relief for sciatica symptoms in downtown San Francisco since 1992.

Sciatica is a symptom not a cause. Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve or nerve roots, which originate in the lumbar spine and travel down the leg become irritated and inflamed. When this happens it typically causes pain that travels down one or both legs, usually one. There can be associated numbness, tingling or weakness. Sometimes there is back pain and sometimes there isn’t.

The most common cause of sciatica is a herniated or bulging disc in the low back. Although, the pain associated can be severe and debilitating, it’s also the type of problem that can be brought under control within a few weeks. Chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, and exercise can help with sciatica symptoms. But in reality, they are just treating the symptoms and not the cause.

About 9 years ago we began to incorporate nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000 into our herniated and bulging disc treatment protocols. We were the first to offer these services in San Francisco. Since then we have performed more than 20,000 decompression sessions to thousands of disc patients, and the results have been outstanding.

Spinal Decompression machines are designed and built to treat lumbar disc herniations, bulges, facet syndrome, degenerative disc disease, and spinal stenosis…all sciatica causes, naturally.

Disc decompression therapy with the DRX elongates the spine, enlarges the disc space, re-hydrates the injured spinal disc and re-positions the herniated disc fragments away from the nerve roots and spinal cord and back to the center of the disc. Does it do this every time? NO…just most of the time. No treatment is 100% effective. However, spinal decompression IS 100% natural. No drugs, No surgery. Either it works or it doesn’t (rare). In the rare event the DRX fails to deliver results, you are still whole and can pursue other treatment options. The DRX is very very safe…and effective.

Press Release: Chronic Back Pain Week

Dr. Eben Davis and Executive Express Chiropractic in San Francisco is opening their doors to local back pain and neck pain sufferers who feel they have run out of treatment options.

Chronic Back Pain Week will be held 3/21/2011 to 3/26/2011. During this time, Executive Express Chiropractic will be offering complimentary Back pain assessments and spinal decompression treatments on the DRX9000.

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, drug-less treatment that is performed on a special machine that is designed and built to treat chronic back conditions naturally.

Some of the chronic back and neck pain conditions that can be helped with the DRX9000 are disc herniations, disc bulges, degenerative disc disease, and facet syndrome.

Says Dr. Davis “Many patients have been told they need back surgery, or neck surgery for their lumbar or cervical disc herniations. They just don’t realize they have other options. This is what we want them to know”.

Over 80% of the population in the US will suffer a serious episode of back pain at some point in their lives. Many of these people will go on to suffer with chronic back pain, which is back pain that persists for over 90 days. Some will suffer with serious, chronic, back pain or neck pain that will interfere with their ability to have a normal active life or earn a living.

Dr. Davis, and his team of chiropractors in San Francisco, are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic back pain. And they invite you to come to their Spinal Decompression Clinic in the SF Financial District to find out if the DRX9000 makes sense for you. Or the DRX9000c, which treats cervical disc herniations.

To schedule your complimentary back pain assessment and free spinal decompression treatment on the DRX9000 or DRX9000c, please call 415-392-2225 and mention Chronic Back Pain Week.

We will also be hosting a free lunchtime seminar "Nonsurgical Solutions for Chronic Back Pain" on 3/24/2011 from 12-1pm. The seminar will be sponsored by Boston Properties and will be held in the Embarcadero center Conference Center at EC4. To RSVP call 415-392-2225

Herniated Disc? Don’t Rush To Have Back Surgery!

San Francisco Herniated Disc Doctor Comments:

AXIOM MARKETING DVD 124 I remember a while back when I was in chiropractic college, a friend of mine found out he had a herniated disc in his low back. Two days later he was on the operating table having low back surgery. He was never the same. He had two more back surgeries and now walks with a cane.

Sure, there are many successful back surgeries…but too many end up like my friend…so why rush into it? Especially when there are modern non-invasive herniated disc repair methods such as nonsurgical spinal decompression.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression machines are designed an built to treat neurovascular compression syndromes such as disc bulges, disc herniations, degenerative disc disease (DDD), and facet syndromes…without drugs…and without surgery.

The decompression system we use at Executive Express Chiropractic at the SF Embarcadero Center, is the DRX9000, made by Axiom Worldwide. The DRX9000 is the Rolls Royce of spinal decompression machines. It offers the patient the most comfort and delivers the best results…in my opinion.

Anyway, there is no need to rush and have back surgery if you find out you have a disc herniation…not with spinal decompression available in most major cities. You can always have disc surgery if for some reason nonsurgical decompression fails to deliver…it's just the smart way to go.

If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center…simply call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Eben Davis.

The DRX9000 is a Tool

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 I have said over and over that the DRX9000 lumbar decompression system is NOT a Magic Bullet. Yes…some DRX9000 alumni will swear that it is…but what about the patients that did not respond…what do they have to say?

Well…fortunately for everyone, an overwhelming majority of patients respond favorably to nonsurgical decompression with the DRX9000. So this makes life as a DRX doctor a little bit easier.

No…it is not good when a herniated disc patient fails to respond to decompression therapy…but it happens. And if I do my job right…my patient knows up front it can happen…it’s just not likely.

The bottom line is this…Just like a hammer is a tool …The DRX9000 is a tool…for repairing herniated discs. There are many factors involved with chronic back pain…including emotional, hormonal, and physical components. The DRX9000 is concerned with the physical…helping remove neurovascular compression associated with disc bulges, herniated discs, facet syndromes, and disc degeneration.

And the DRX will do this. Does this mean the low back pain or sciatica will go away and a back pain patient will return to a more normal function?  Most of the time…YES. But sometimes NO.

Why…I don’t know…and neither does anyone else.  It’s just the way that it is.

Many chronic back pain doctors have knowledge in other areas of pain management and can advise you on lifestyle modifications that may enhance your decompression results…I know I do.

Just remember, while the DRX9000 is not a magic bullet…it is the most advanced nonsurgical medical technology available in the marketplace today for the treatment of lumbar and cervical disc herniations (DRX9000c). And if you choose to do treatment…chances are…you will be glad you did.

DRX9000 and the Elderly Patient

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Nri02291 I receive quite a few inquiries from elderly patients and their loved ones about the DRX9000 spinal decompression system. The question is always the same…

"Do you think decompression therapy will help me?"

And my response is always the same…

"I don’t know for sure…and neither does anyone else."

I have been treating herniated disc patients for 16 years now in downtown San Francisco. I have been using the DRX9000 for 3 years. In those 3 years I have treated hundreds of patients with the DRX. Many of them have been elderly. I learned quickly that we need to manage expectations with elderly back pain patients…because, there are…limitations of matter.

If the spine is severely degenerated, we will obviously not be able to reverse that. BUT…often times, the spinal decompression process can take a really bad spine and make it function a whole lot better…I have seen this over and over.   I have also had elderly patients go through the entire program and not respond. It’s just the way that it is.

You have to weigh the potential gain against the cost of the DRX9000 and the time investment. The risks are minimum…usually soreness only, if anything. So, it’s really money and time. If you can handle the fact that you might shell out $5000, spend 6 weeks doing treatment, and it might not work…than you should probably give it a shot. Hey, the upside is HUGE if it works…You just might get your life back.

If you live in the SF Bay Area, and would like to find out if you are a candidate for the DRX9000 at our Embarcadero Center Chronic Back Pain Clinic…simply call 415-392-2225, press ext#1.

Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression with the DRX9000 is now available to Financial District Chronic Back and Neck Pain Sufferers

Md_news_photos_011 Executive Express Chiropractic at One Embarcadero Center, Lobby Level, will offer lumbar decompression therapy with the DRX9000, and cervical decompression with the DRX9000c.

Spinal decompression therapy treats cervical and lumbar disc herniations, disc bulges, and degenerative disc disease without surgery. Here is a DRX9000 Special Report that summarizes these findings.

By making decompression therapy so convenient for Embarcadero Center tenants and downtown SF office workers…Dr. Eben Davis expects that his decompression machines will stay full at all times.

DRX9000 Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression is on the rise

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 Three years ago when I brought the first DRX9000 decompression system to downtown San Francisco, hardly anyone knew what nonsurgical spinal decompression was. Now, most chronic back pain sufferers have at least heard about it…or so it seems.

There was a time when we had a 3 month waiting list for our two spinal decompression machines. Then, slowly, more and more doctors in the SF Bay Area began to purchase the DRX9000, as well as some of the other decompression systems.

This is fine, because there are way more patients that need lumbar decompression or cervical decompression than there are machines. The DRX9000 treats lumbar disc herniations, disc bulges, facet syndromes, and disc degeneration.

The DRX9000c treats cervical disc herniations, cervical disc bulges, and cervical disc degeneration.

Md_news_photos_010Nonsurgical spinal decompression has been getting a lot of press lately because of a Special Report on the DRX9000 that was based on preliminary research at some very prominent healing institutions. John Hopkins University, The Mayo Clinic, and Duke University participated in the ground breaking research study. Checkout this DRX9000 video to hear first hand what they discovered. Hint…The DRX9000 works!

Anyway…if you would like to learn more about spinal decompression, check out the left side of this blog for links to the Axiom Worldwide Decompression Blog, DRX9000 Protocol, and DRX9000 Patient Guide.

If you live or work in the SF Bay Area and would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our San Francisco Spinal Decompression Clinic at the Embarcadero Center…simply call 415-392-2225, press ext 1(24 hr live operators) and ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Eben Davis.

Executive Express DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Starts Soon

San Francisco Chiropractor and Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_121We are moving our DRX9000 nonsurgical spinal decompression machine into our interim office space on Thursday, June 19th. Our first sessions will start on Monday,  June 30th. I think we are completely full…but there may be one decompression slot available (email: ebendavis@yahoo.com for more info).

We have a DRX9000 lumbar decompression machine, with a DRX9000c attachment. So, we can treat lumbar and cervical herniated and bulging discs…along with degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome, and spinal stenosis.

There is an MRI facility directly across the street from us…so if we need to order MRI films, we can usually do so within a day or two.

When our new clinic opens downstairs at One Embarcadero Center, Lobby Level…sometime late summer…we will add another DRX9000/DRX9000c combo unit, so that we are able to handle the anticipated demand.

If you have been diagnosed with lumbar or cervical disc herniations, or degenerative disc disease…and are not responding to treatments…and/or do not want surgery…you may be a candidate for nonsurgical spinal decompression.

For a complimentary consultation at our Embarcadero Center Spinal Decompression Clinic…simply call 415-392-2225, and press #1 (live 24/hr operator).

Chiropractic X-Rays: Are They Really Necessary?

San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_113Why don’t all chiropractors take x-rays? Well…it just depends on their treatment philosophy and chiropractic technique. Some have x-ray, but only use it if necessary.

Personally, I have always had x-ray at my clinic. But over the past several years I have used it less and less. In fact, at the new clinic we are currently building at Embarcadero Center, I am still undecided because of space constraints.

Modern diagnostic methods such as electronic range of motion studies and muscle testing…along with surface EMG, are able to help chiropractors pin-point vertebral subluxations (which is what chiropractors treat). This information, along with posture analysis and standard orthopedic/neurologic exam findings, is usually enough to know what to do.

Sure, if you think a patient may have a fracture or fusion…you would need to have an x-ray…so you would refer out.

An MRI is the gold standard for diagnosing spinal disc herniations and stenosis. Most chiropractors refer out for MRI. Fortunately, we have an MRI facility right across the street if we need it.

So, there really is no right way…if anything the trend is to take less. Most insurance companies and standard of care protocols only want chiropractors to take x-rays in certain situations.

The radiation is really not a factor with modern chiropractic x-ray equipment…but the costs can be.

So, ask your chiropractor why they are taking them and see what they say. If it makes sense go with it. But if it doesn’t, you can elect to pass. That’s what I’d do.

If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our Embarcadero Center Chiropractic Clinic…simply call 415-392-2225, and press 1. Ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Davis.

Can Chiropractic Help Disc Herniations Reduce or Resorb?

San Francisco Chiropractor and Herniated Disc Specialist comments on findings of study:

There are still many in the scientific community that do not believe that disc herniations can be reversed. However, recent research with MRI and CT scans proves otherwise. I have known for a while now that disc herniations can be reduced, or can even resolve completely. And over the years, I have treated hundreds, if not thousands,  of patients with lumbar disc herniations (LDH) and cervical disc herniations (CDH) with traditional chiropractic care. I re-read a study today entitled Can Herniated Discs Reduce or Resorb (that has been around a while), that explains in detail how bulging or herniated discs can heal with chiropractic treatment. Check it out.

Md_news_photos_011 For the ruptured disc patients that do not respond to conventional chiropractic, medical care, or physical therapy, there is a relatively new option available in the marketplace…Non-surgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000 or DRX9000c. Spinal Decompression machines are designed and built to target herniated discs that are not responsive to other treatments. I have both the DRX9000 and the DRX9000c at my San Francisco Herniated Disc Center.

So, if chiropractic is not effective in treating your disc herniations, we have the DRX9000 to fall back on. In reality, most of the patients that search me out because they want spinal decompression with the DRX9000, have already tried chiropractic and most everything else. These are the chronic back pain and chronic neck pain patients that are the perfect candidates for the DRX9000 or DRX9000c.

Actually, you do have to qualify medically for spinal decompression. You can’t have any metal in the spine from a previous fusion or implant. You can’t have advanced osteoporosis, tumors, or fractures. Healed compression fractures are OK. No aortic aneurysms, cancer, or infections of the spine. Most patients WILL qualify.

The best way to find out if you are a candidate for non-surgical spinal decompression with the  DRX9000 or DRX9000c is to fill out our Free Online Decompression Consultation Form. Or call our San Francisco Decompression Center directly at 415-392-2225, and ask for a complimentary consultation. Chances are, you will be glad you did.
