Cervical Decompression for Arm and Hand Pain

cervical decompression san francisco drx9000c

Cervical Decompression with the DRX9000c

We have been providing cervical spinal decompression treatment in San Francisco for over 10 years now. The machine we use is the DRX9000c.

The DRX9000c cervical decompression system treats bulging and herniated discs in the neck which are a primary cause of arm and hand pain.

The nerves that exit from the neck travel down the arm and into the hand. When these nerves become pinched from herniated or bulging cervical discs it can cause neck pain, shoulder pain, arm and hand pain, weakness of grip, numbness, tingling, even night pain.

Because these symptoms mimic those of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), herniated discs in the neck are often misdiagnosed as CTS. In fact, sometimes carpal tunnel surgery is even performed (even though the cause is in the neck)…if you can believe that.

Once it is determined that the underlying cause of a patients arm and hand pain is a herniated or bulging disc (by MRI) we will first attempt to help with conservative treatments such as chiropractic, massage, and physical therapy. In the event these treatments fail to deliver results we may recommend cervical decompression with the DRX9000c.

The DRX9000c is designed and built to treat herniated discs in the neck without surgery. Sometimes a combination of decompression, chiropractic and exercise works best. If we need the help of a medical doctor we have them as part of our team also.

To find out if you are a candidate for arm and hand pain treatment with cervical decompression in San Francisco please call 415-392-2225. We are in network for most insurance carriers. We also have validated parking at the Embarcadero Center where we are located.

Natural Back Pain Relief with Chiropractic

Natural back pain relief san franciscoWe have been providing chiropractic in the San Francisco Financial District for over 20 years now. Our typical patient spends 8-12 hours sitting at a desk in front of a computer doing repetitive motions with the shoulders, arms and hands.

The most common condition we treat is of course Back Pain. Conditions like low back pain, upper back pain, and neck pain are endemic amongst office workers and computer users in general. Many also suffer with upper extremity repetitive strain disorders.

Just yesterday, a patient came to see us that started working out with weights back in December. He works out 4 days per week. His job requires that he spend long hours at his workstation with minimum breaks. He started noticing back pain that was spreading into the low back and upper back. His right shoulder was also clicking and hurt when he slept on that side.

Because he is simply not giving his body enough time to rest and recover it has slowly broken down and he is suffering a repetitive motion injury to the back, neck, shoulders, and upper extremities. He works all day with little rest and does not get enough sleep (in the right position) or eat the right kinds of foods (foods that reduce inflammation). Then, on his weakened structure he lifts weights. He actually looks pretty fit on the outside, but on the inside his body is screaming for mercy.

Back pain, neck pain, any kind of pain, is a warning sign from your body to you that something is wrong. Pain should not be ignored. So what is the solution?

Well, I can tell you that what I described above is NOT an Advil or Motrin deficiency. Taking these pills will only mask the symptoms and the underlying problem is still there. Sure, pain pills and anti-inflammatory medication can help get you through a tough spot and help you meet a deadline, but it’s just not a good long term solution and can cause bad things like liver and kidney damage.

A better solution is to find natural back pain relief.

Consumer Reports Ranks Chiropractic #1 For Back Pain Treatment.

A good chiropractor can help fix your back, neck, shoulder, arm and hand pain naturally. They can also teach you how to prevent what they treat with education on ergonomics, sleeping positions, exercises, stretches, nutrition, stress, and many other lifestyle factors.

Chiropractors work with their hands and have various tools that are used to restore spinal subluxations and misalignment’s as well as reduce inflammation and pain levels. It’s actually the inflammation that causes the pain. Chiropractors address the cause and not just the symptoms.

Herniated Disc Treatment with Spinal Decompression

DRXC San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

We have been providing treatment for herniated discs in San Francisco for almost 20 years now at Executive Express Chiropractic (formerly Front Street Chiropractic).

About 6 years ago we began to incorporate Spinal Decompression into our herniated disc treatment protocols. First it was lumbar decompression with the DRX9000. Then cervical decompression with the DRX9000c. The results have been outstanding.

Spinal decompression machines are designed and built to treat cervical and lumbar disc herniations and related neurovascular compression syndromes without drugs or surgery. Here is a list of the conditions that spinal decompression can help:

  • Lumbar disc herniations
  • Cervical disc herniations
  • Cervical disc bulges & Lumbar disc bulges
  • Foraminal stenosis
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Disc degeneration
  • Facet syndrome

I like to think of nonsurgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000 or DRX9000c (or many of the other fine decompression systems on the market) as a respirator for the spinal discs. The action of spinal decompression on an injured disc, helps the disc to function they way it would if it were healthy…which helps to make it healthy…to the extent this is possible. There are limitations of matter.

But now I know…hundreds of successfully treated disc patients later…that the body can do amazing things if given the chance. And spinal decompression gives the herniated disc a chance. A chance to repair itself…a chance to give back lost life.

Can spinal decompression help you? Maybe. The only way to find out for sure is to saddle-up and go through the entire decompression protocol, which can take 6-10 weeks.

You have to qualify medically though. Not all patients with a herniated disc qualify.

For instance, if you have surgical spinal fusion or any hardware in the spine you are disqualified from treatment. Or if you have an unstable spondylolisthesis…or a severe scolisosis.

The best thing to do is to find a spinal decompression doctor near you and find out if disc decompression makes sense for your condition.

Is Spinal Disc Herniation Fixable?

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Md_news_photos_011 Up until recently, it was  thought that a herniated disc in the neck…or a herniated disc in the low back could not be repaired without surgery.

Now, it is widely accepted that nonsurgical spinal decompression of the lumbar spine or cervical spine can help a disc herniation heal naturally. It’s pretty amazing if you think about it.

Sure decompression therapy will not help every single patient that does it…but nothing else will either.

We have been treating patients at my San Francisco Spinal Decompression clinics for over 3 years now…and the results have been outstanding. Some patients return to normal, some become a lot better than they were, some a little better…and some do not respond at all (rare).

I’m not sure what the overall success rates are…but it’s pretty darn good.

According to preliminary research currently underway at the Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins and Duke Universities…spinal decompression is the nonsurgical treatment of the future for disc herniations, disc bulges, facet syndromes, and disc degeneration.

The spinal decompression machine used for the research was the DRX9000…the machine we have used at our SF Bay Area Chiropractic Centers.

There is a  Spinal Decompression Special Report on the findings of this study that is very interesting. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Lumbar Disc Herniation Treatment Options

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:

Axiom_marketing_dvd_114What are your treatment choices if you have been diagnosed with a herniated disc in the low back that is unresponsive to conservative care, such as chiropractic, physical therapy, medications, or acupuncture?

Here are the most common treatment options:

1. Do nothing.

2. Cortisone injections.

3. Spinal discectomy (remove the herniated disc fragments surgically).

4. Surgical Spinal fusion (fuse it all together to stabilize).

5. Surgical laminectomy (remove part of the lumbar vertebrae-usually for spinal stenosis).

6. Artificial surgical disc replacement.

7. Nonsurgical spinal decompression.

Most of the herniated disc patients I consult with have already tried doing nothing. Some have tried cortisone…and the majority do not want to have any kind of spine surgery, which is why they are meeting with me.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a non-invasive, drugless procedure that is done on a very expensive computerized machine, that was designed and built to treat disc herniations. Spinal decompression technology is not perfect…but nothing is…especially spine surgery.

So yes…Lumbar disc herniations that do not respond to conventional conservative treatments can be helped without drugs or surgery…with nonsurgical lumbar decompression.

The spinal decompression machine I feature at my San Francisco Herniated Disc Center is the DRX9000. I have been using the machine for over 3 years now…and the results are excellent.

If you would like to find out if there is a DRX9000 doctor near you…simply go to www.axiomworldwide.com, they have a doctor finder.
