San Francisco Spinal Decompression Center comments:
The DRX 9000 & the DRX 9000c nonsurgical spinal decompression systems are designed to treat bulging and herniated spinal discs. It can also help degenerative disc disease (DDD), and facet syndrome. Some of the symptoms patients with these conditions experience are as follows:
- Low Back or Neck Pain
- Arm and Leg Pain (Sciatica)
- Numbness & Tingling of the arms, hands, legs, feet
- Weakness of upper & lower extremities
- Night pain
The DRX 9000 does not treat the symptom itself, it treats the underlying cause of the symptom, the bulging or herniated discs. It does this by isolating on a specific spinal segment and enlarging the disc space. It’s sort of like traction, except traction pulls the entire spinal region. Spinal decompression is more specific. What happens is, the muscles resist when we pull them. They don’t like it. This muscle "guarding" or "splinting" can actually do more harm than good. In fact, many of our DRX 9000 patients have already had traction. It made some of them worse. The DRX9000 has a computer that is able to sense your body’s muscle response and adapt to it. The DRX 9000 has a bi-directional motor that can spin forward or backwards at lighting speeds, fine tuning it’s force to your muscle response. In fact, these adjustments are made over 20 times per second. Amazing stuff. Conventional traction devices cost around two -five thousand dollars. My DRX9000 and DRX9000c spinal decompression systems cost me around $150,000. So don’t be fooled by cheap imposters.
Having the ability to deal with muscle guarding is the key. The DRX9000 is able to slice through it and isolate on the target spinal disc. The one that is bulging or herniated. If there are multiple herniated discs, we can target them at different times throughout the treatment protocol. Sometimes the disc herniation that looks the worst on the MRI is not the one that is causing the problems. This is why surgery can be so frustrating if there are multiple levels of involvement. The surgery is done on the wrong spinal disc. Of course this is not known until months later. Then what, another surgery? Tough call.
The DRX9000 is a wise choice because it is very safe…and we can target multiple discs during the treatment process. It’s something to seriously consider before having surgery.
